About Olga Medvedtseva
Olga Medvedtseva, born on July 7, 1975 in Russia, is a former Russian biathlete and two-time Olympic gold medalist who competed under the name Olga Pyleva. She began her successful career by winning her first International Competition gold medal at the 2000 World Championships. However, she faced controversy when she won a silver medal at the 2006 Olympics but had it taken away after testing positive for the stimulant carphedon.
In addition to her accomplishments in biathlon, Medvedtseva married her coach and former Olympic Champion Valery Medvedtsev in 2006.
