About Olga Broumas
Olga Broumas is a Greek poet born on May 6, 1949. She is best known for her homoerotic collection entitled Beginning with O and has also authored works such as Pastoral jazz, Soie Sauvage, and Perpetua.
Broumas relocated from Greece to the United States on a Fulbright Scholarship and studied architecture at the University of Pennsylvania before pursuing a degree in creative writing at the University of Oregon.
In the 1980s, she founded Freehand, Inc., a Cape Cod training program for women artists. Her first poetry collection, Beginning with O, celebrates her relationships with women.
