About Oksana Chusovitina
Oksana Chusovitina, born on June 19, 1975 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, is a renowned gymnast. She made history as the first female gymnast to compete in eight Olympic games, representing three different national teams: Uzbekistan, Germany and the Soviet Union.
Chusovitina began her gymnastics journey in 1982 and quickly rose to prominence when she won the all-around title at the USSR National Championships in 1988 for the junior division. Notably, she holds the record for most individual world championship medals on the vault with nine medals.
Outside of her athletic pursuits, she married Olympic wrestler Bakhodir Kurbanov and welcomed their son Alisher in 1999. Chusovitina’s remarkable career and achievements have solidified her status as a notable figure in the world of gymnastics.
