About Ojerime
Ojerime, born on August 19, 1993 in London, England, is an R&B singer and songwriter. Her debut mixtape “B4 I Breakdown” propelled her to over 870,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Known for blending eclectic R&B with the distinct sounds of garage and grime music originating from Black British culture, she also directs and creates treatments for most of her music videos.
Prior to her musical career taking off, Ojerime sang in the gospel choir at her family’s church during childhood. In 2021, she launched her ojerime Instagram account which has garnered a following of around 30,000 people.
Her debut album was deeply influenced by personal struggles with mental health that led to a six-week hospital stay after experiencing a breakdown in 2019. The creation and performance of these songs proved instrumental in her recovery process while expressing gratitude towards those who supported her during this challenging time.
Raised in London within a musically inclined household that nurtured her artistic talents, Ojerime attributes much of her love for music to her brother. She also has fondness for animals as evidenced by owning a dog named Santi. With Nigerian and Jamaican roots through her parents’ heritage, Ojerime brings diverse influences into both her life and artistry.
