About Nyree Dawn Porter
Nyree Dawn Porter (1936-01-22) was a New Zealand-born actress best known for her performances in English television shows such as The Protectors and The Forsyte Saga. In addition to her TV work, she also appeared in films like The Martian Chronicles and The Cracksman.
Porter started her career as a touring stage performer with the New Zealand Players Trust before transitioning to London’s West End theatre and musicals, including performances in Come Blow Your Horn and Sunday in the Park with George.
She gained fame for her role in the late 1960s comedy program Never a Cross Word. Porter was married twice; first to Byron O’Leary until his death in 1970, and later to Robin Halstead with whom she had a daughter named Natalya Francesca Halstead before their divorce.
