Nona Hendryx, born on October 9, 1944 in Trenton, New Jersey, is a renowned R&B singer known for her work as a member of the doo-wop and R&B trio, Labelle. The group achieved commercial success with their hit “Lady Marmalade.” Prior to this, Hendryx was a member of the group Bluebelles.

Aside from her contributions to music, she has also been an active supporter of gay rights and identifies as bisexual.

She is related to the legendary musician Jimi Hendrix.
