About Nicole Blackman
Nicole Blackman (born November 30, 1971) is a poet and performance artist from New York City. In addition to her work as a poet, she is known for releasing an album of spoken-word poetry titled “Stay Away from Lonely Places.” She has also worked as a voiceover artist, lending her voice to advertising campaigns for companies such as Verizon, Blockbuster, and Chrysler.
Blackman gained attention with the release of her first spoken-word album “Revival: Spoken Word from Lollapalooza 94” in 1994. She was also a frequent guest on “Man in the Moon,” a radio program hosted by Liza Richardson.
Born and raised in New York City, Blackman continues to be recognized for her contributions to poetry and performance art.
