About Nicola Sturgeon
Nicola Sturgeon, born on July 19, 1970 in Irvine, Scotland, is a prominent politician affiliated with the Scottish National Party. She assumed the role of Deputy First Minister of Scotland in 2007 and later became the First Minister of Scotland in 2014. Prior to her leadership roles, she served as Cabinet Secretary for Health, Infrastructure, and Parliament. Sturgeon earned her law degree from the University of Glasgow before entering politics – initially running unsuccessfully for a seat in the Scottish Parliament in 1992.
Sturgeon was honored with the Scottish Politician of the Year award in 2008. In terms of family life, she married fellow Scottish National Party politician Peter Murrell in 2010 and has a mother who also pursued a career as a politician.
