About Nico
Nico, born Christa Paffgen on October 16, 1938 in Cologne, Germany, was a German singer-songwriter and rock singer. She is known for her solo work and her collaboration with the Velvet Underground on their influential 1967 album The Velvet Underground & Nico where she performed songs like “Femme Fatale” and “I’ll Be Your Mirror.” Prior to her music career, she worked as a lingerie saleswoman at KaDeWe department store in Berlin and later pursued modeling due to her distinctive features – standing at 5’10” with a striking bone structure.
Aside from music and modeling, Nico also ventured into acting with roles in Andy Warhol’s Chelsea Girls and Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita. She had a son named Christian Aaron Boulogne with actor Alain Delon.
