About Nena
Nena, born on March 24th, 1960 in Hagen, Germany, is a German New Wave pop singer widely recognized for her iconic hit song “99 Luftballons” released in 1983. Her notable solo albums include Bongo Girl, Chokmah, and Made in Germany. Prior to her solo career, she performed with the German pop band The Stripes.
Aside from music, Nena has ventured into education and established a private school called the Neue Schule Hamburg. She hails from Breckerfeld and Hagen in West Germany and has a family with Swiss actor Benedict Freitag of three children: Christopher (who passed away at 11 months), twins Sakias and Larissa; before having two more children with Phillipp Palm named Samuel and Simeon.
