About Neilia Hunter
Neilia Hunter was born on July 28, 1942, in New York. She was an educator and the first wife of former Vice President Joe Biden.
Before fame, she graduated from Syracuse University and went on to work as an English teacher in the Syracuse City School District.
In 1972, Neilia tragically passed away in a car crash alongside her daughter Naomi. She also helped her then-husband Joe Biden win his first term in the US Senate that same year. Neilia met Joe Biden while they were both in Nassau, Bahamas.
She is survived by her two sons Hunter and Beau Biden.
