About Nazneen Contractor
Nazneen Contractor, born on August 26, 1982 in Mumbai, India, is a Canadian TV actress. She gained recognition for her role as Layla Hourani in the drama series The Border in 2008 and has since appeared in shows like Children Ruin Everything, Star Wars Resistance, Ransom, and 24. Her film credits include Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and Spiral (2021).
Prior to her acting career, she studied theater and dance at the Etobicoke School of the Arts during her teenage years. Additionally, she provided voice acting for the survival horror video game Dying Light in 2015.
Contractor won a Golden Nymph Award at The Montecarlo Television Festival for her performance in The Border. Although born in Mumbai, she grew up mostly in Toronto where she now lives with her husband Carlo Rota – also an actor – and their son and daughter.
