Naomi Diaz, born on December 13, 1994 in France, is a French-Cuban world music singer and songwriter. She gained popularity as one half of the music duo Ibeyi, assuming the duties of playing Peruvian/Cuban percussion instruments such as the cajon.
In an interview, she mentioned that she started playing the cajon at the age of 11. The duo released their debut studio album “Ibeyi” through XL Recordings in 2015.
Naomi is the daughter of Cuban percussionist Anga Diaz and is also the twin sister of her fellow Ibeyi member Lisa-Kainde Diaz.
