Nancy Dow was born on July 22, 1936, in New York City, New York. She is best known as the mother of actress Jennifer Aniston and also had a career in acting, appearing in episodes of The Wild Wild West and The Beverly Hillbillies.
Prior to her rise to fame, she grew up in New York City with her five sisters within a family of Italian, Greek, Irish, and Scottish heritage. Dow published a memoir titled From Mother and Daughter to Friends in 1999.
She was first married to musician Jack Melick and had a son named John. Following their divorce she married actor John Aniston and they welcomed their daughter Jennifer Aniston into the world in 1969.
