About Nadia Nerina
Nadia Nerina, born October 21, 1927 in South Africa, was a renowned dancer known for her work with the Sadler’s Wells Theatre Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet, and the Royal Ballet. She is celebrated for creating roles in Frederick Ashton’s “Birthday Offering” and Robert Helpmann’s “Elektra”, among other notable dance pieces.
As a child, she received ballet training from South African dancer Eileen Keegan before achieving the title of prima ballerina at just twenty-five years old. After marrying financier Charles Gordon in 1956, she continued to leave a lasting impact on the world of dance until her passing in 2008.
