About Nada Higl
Nada Higl is a Serbian swimmer who was born on January 2, 1987, in Yugoslavia. She made history by becoming the first female Serbian swimmer to win a gold medal in the 200m breaststroke at the 2009 FINA World Aquatics Championships.
Prior to her championship win, Higl competed in the European Junior Swimming Championships in 2003, showcasing her talent in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events. Her exceptional performance led to her being named Serbian Sportswoman of the Year by the Olympic Committee of Serbia in 2009.
Higl has been supported and trained by her brother Sebastijan throughout her swimming career.
