Myrtle Corbin (1868-05-12) was a sideshow performer born in Tennessee with a rare condition called dipygus, which resulted in her having four legs. Her body split into two sections at the waist, giving her two pelvises with each pair of legs.
Corbin could walk using her outer legs, while the inner pair were smaller and weaker but still functional. Her successful birth surprised doctors, who expected her to have significant health issues.
At age 13, she began performing in sideshows to earn extra money. She was notable for having two reproductive systems, prompting doctors to determine that the left side would be better suited for pregnancy.
In 1885, Corbin married James Clinton Bicknell at age 19 and had five children with him as they lived a mostly normal family life despite her unique physical attributes.
