About Morgan James
Morgan James is a pop singer, songwriter, and stage actress born on November 24, 1981, in Boise, Idaho. She gained recognition for her first studio album Hunter released in November 2014 and for her performances in Godspell and The Addams Family on Broadway.
Prior to fame, she attended The Juilliard School after graduating high school at the age of 18 where she focused on music and voice with an emphasis on opera. Additionally, she took several classes with Broadway and film star Barbara Cook.
James performed extensively in bars and concert venues across New York City before gaining broader exposure through collaborations with Scott Bradlee on his Postmodern Jukebox YouTube channel and touring with him in 2014.
Born Morgan Grunerud to actors Allen Grunerud and Shellie Harwood, due to her parents’ occupations the family moved frequently leading James to spend time in Utah, Tennessee, and Modesto California during her formative years. In 2012 she began dating musician Doug Wamble.
