About Monica Hargrove
Monica Hargrove is a track and field athlete known for specializing in the 200 and 400 meter dash events. She was born on December 30, 1982, in New Haven, Connecticut.
Hargrove began her amateur track career while studying at Georgetown University. From 2002 to 2004, she was selected as an All-American as a member of Georgetown’s sprint medley relay team.
In 2006, she won a silver medal at the IAAF World Indoor Championships as part of the 4×400 meter relay team. That same year, she also recorded the world best time in the sprint medley relay event at the Penn Relays.
Her achievements continued as in 2009, she was ranked among the top twelve fastest 400 meter sprinters in the world
Monica Hargrove hails from New Haven, Connecticut where she was both born and raised.
