About Monica De Gennaro
Monica De Gennaro (born January 8, 1987) is an Italian professional volleyball player from Naples, Italy. She gained international recognition as a libero and contributed to her country’s gold medal win at the 2011 FIVB World Cup. De Gennaro has played for several prominent teams including Vicenza Volley, Scavolini Pesaro, and Imoco Volley.
De Gennaro began her career with Libertas Sorrento in 2001 and made her national team debut in 2006. She was recognized as the Best Libero of the 2014 FIVB World Championship, during which Italy achieved a fourth-place finish. Additionally, she represented Italy in the 2012 Olympic Games.
Born and raised in Piano di Sorrento, Italy, De Gennaro continues to excel in her athletic pursuits while remaining dedicated to representing her nation on both domestic and international stages.
