About Moani Hara
Moani Hara, born on December 3, 1989 in Nuʻuanu, Hawaii, is a professional model and hula dancer. She gained recognition after being crowned Miss Hawaii USA in 2014, following a first runner-up finish in the 2012 competition. Prior to her pageantry career, she was involved in club volleyball and soccer before entering her first pageant at age 16.
Hara pursued a public relations major at the University of Hawaii and has been an advocate for dyslexia awareness due to her personal experience with the condition. As a volunteer and board member for the Hawaii International Dyslexia Association, she has actively worked to promote understanding and support for those affected by dyslexia.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Hara enjoys outdoor activities such as canoeing and dirt-biking. Her upbringing was heavily influenced by her close-knit family and active lifestyle; she grew up surrounded by all male cousins who shared her passion for adventure.
Her parents Robyn and George Hara supported her endeavors while working as a receptionist and cable splicer respectively.
