About Mildred Okwo
Mildred Okwo is a Nigerian director and producer known for her work on the films Suru L’ere in 2016 and The Meeting in 2012. She was born on April 29, 1966, in Nigeria. Okwo studied Theater Arts at the University of Benin before training in Law in the United States. She made her feature film directorial debut in 2006 with the film 30 Days.
In addition to her directing career, Okwo has been part of the Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee, which allowed Nigerian films to be submitted for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards.
She was nominated for Best Director at the 4th Africa Movie Academy Awards for her work directing The Meeting. Mildred Okwo continues to make significant contributions to Nigerian cinema and remains an influential figure within the industry.
Okwo was born and raised in Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria.
