About Michelle Zauner
Michelle Zauner, born on March 29, 1989 in Seoul, South Korea, is a pop singer and guitarist known for creating dreamy, shoegaze-inspired indie-pop music under the name Japanese Breakfast. She has gained acclaim from major music outlets worldwide for her releases such as Psychopomp (2016) and Soft Sounds from Another Planet (2017), along with three studio albums released since 2016. Prior to her solo career, she grew up in Eugene, Oregon before relocating to Brooklyn, New York and was part of the band Post Post. Additionally, she was a member of the Philadelphia-based emo band Little Big League before pursuing a solo career. Notably in 2021, she composed the soundtrack for the video game Sable. Tragically she lost her mother to breast cancer.
