About Michelle DaRosa
Michelle DaRosa (born September 13, 1980) is an indie and alt-rock singer known for her work as the lead vocalist of the collaborative band Destry. Born on Long Island, New York, she began the group in 2008 and has collaborated with various musicians throughout its duration.
Prior to her music career, DaRosa attended Nassau Tech Community College and studied cosmetology while also attending high school. She started off working odd jobs while playing bass for different bands in Seattle before embarking on her professional musical journey.
In addition to her work with Destry, DaRosa provided backup vocals for two songs from Taking Back Sunday’s debut album “Tell All Your Friends” in 2002. In 2003, she founded the band Straylight Run and released two albums during its seven-year run.
Family-wise, Michelle was born in Rockville Centre and raised in Baldwin by her parents Tom and Lisa. Her brother John is also involved in rock music. In October 2006, she tied the knot with Jeff DaRosa.
