About Melanie Fontana
Melanie Fontana is a pop singer and songwriter born on October 3, 1989, in Connecticut. She rose to prominence as the vocalist and co-writer, collaborating with Tyson Illingworth on hit songs like “Nothing Really Matters” and “ReDefined.” The latter reached the top 10 of the Billboard Dance charts and claimed the #1 spot on Mediabase’s Dance Crossover chart.
Fontana scored her first hit with “Home this Christmas,” featured on Justin Bieber’s album Under the Mistletoe, which he performed alongside The Band Perry. Prior to her music career, she began training in singing, dancing, and acting at age 4 before relocating to New York City at 18 to pursue entertainment opportunities. She soon moved further west to Los Angeles after previously operating her own children’s birthday party entertainment company while also working in fitness.
Amongst various accomplishments early in her career are winning Amateur Night at the Apollo at just 15 years old and later serving as a showband vocalist on two Carnival cruise ships. Fontana was raised by her parents alongside her younger brother Kyle in Newington, Connecticut.
