About Mei Melancon
Mei Melancon (born March 3, 1980) is a Filipino actress known for her role as Jamie Chen on the Showtime series The L Word and her portrayal of Psylocke in X-Men: The Last Stand. She was born in the Philippines to a French mother and Japanese-Chinese father, and spent her childhood performing with a youth music group called Blossoms. Before pursuing acting, she had a successful career as a fashion model.
In addition to her acting career, Melancon has ventured into writing, producing, and directing. She wrote and directed the short film Inner Beauty and co-wrote the thriller American Romance in 2014.
Melancon’s diverse background and experiences growing up in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, California, and New York have contributed to her success in both modeling and acting.
