Mayumi Wakamura (born January 3, 1967) is a Japanese TV actress who gained recognition for her role in the drama Kigakaikyo in 1988.
Wakamura was born in Nerima, Japan and was inspired to pursue acting after witnessing a performance by Tatsuya Nakadai’s troupe at the age of sixteen. She later joined his stage production.
In 1987, she made her television debut in the series Hassai Sensei.
In 2004, Wakamura married Kanehiro Ono, the leader of the religious group “Shakusonkai”.
