About Maya Pedersen-Bieri
Maya Pedersen-Bieri (born November 27, 1972) is a Swiss skeleton racer who achieved success at both the Olympic and World Championship levels. She won an Olympic gold medal in 2006 at the Turin games and earned two gold medals at the World Championships.
Prior to gaining international recognition, Pedersen-Bieri secured her first gold medal in International Competition at the 2001 World Championships.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, she finished 9th in the skeleton competition at the 2010 Olympics. Pedersen-Bieri’s personal life includes her marriage to her trainer Snorre Pedersen in 2002.
