About Maya Lin
Maya Lin (born October 5, 1959) is an American architectural designer and artist known for her impactful works. At the age of 21, she gained recognition for creating the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC. Additionally, Lin has a sculpture series titled “Disappearing Bodies of Water.”
Lin comes from a family with ties to architecture; her aunt, Lin Huiyin, is regarded as China’s first female architect. Notably, Maya Lin identifies as a Chinese-American sculptor and landscape artist.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Maya Lin engages in activism by protesting environmental crimes and cruelties. She places importance on advocating for environmental causes.
In her personal life, she married art and photography dealer Daniel Wolf and together they have a daughter.
