Mavis Staples was born on July 10, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois. She is a renowned soul singer known for her contributions to rhythm, soul, and gospel music. In her career, she released the single “I Have Learned to Do Without You.”Prior to gaining fame as a solo artist, Mavis Staples performed with her band The Staple Singers. They toured extensively right after she graduated from high school.

One of her well-known achievements includes singing the #1 single “I’ll Take You There.” In terms of personal life, Mavis Staples was married but later divorced. Her father was the famous Roebuck “Pops” Staples.
