About Maureen Starkey Tigrett
Maureen Starkey Tigrett was an English stylist best known for being the first wife of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. She was born on August 4, 1946 in England. Maureen left convent school at age fourteen and began working as a hairdresser and manicurist before gaining fame as Ringo’s wife.
Maureen and Ringo married in 1965 but divorced in 1975 due to infidelities and Starr’s increasing alcoholism. Following her divorce from Ringo Starr, she married Hard Rock Cafe co-founder Isaac Tigrett, with whom she had four children.
Intriguingly, American singing legend Frank Sinatra recorded a unique version of “The Lady Is a Tramp” for Maureen on her twenty-second birthday in 1968.
