About Maureen Kunga
Maureen Kunga (born September 26, 1989) is a Kenyan pop singer and songwriter. She gained prominence as one of the vocalists of the group Elani and achieved success by winning the Best African Pop award at the 2014 All Africa Music Awards ceremony.
Prior to her music career, Kunga obtained a degree in law from the University of Nairobi. In 2016, she and her fellow Elani bandmates filed a complaint against the Music Copyright Society of Kenya, alleging corrupt distribution of royalties.
Kunga hails from Kenya.
