Mary Weiss, born on December 28, 1948, in New York, is a pop singer best known for her role as the lead vocalist of the popular ’60s band The Shangri-Las. After a hiatus from music, she made a comeback in 2007 with her solo album “Dangerous Game”.
Before gaining fame, Mary attended her first concert at age fourteen in 1963 to see the Everly Brothers. Interestingly, before rediscovering music in the 2000s, she spent time working for a prominent architectural firm.
Her musical inspiration came from listening to her brother and his friends perform songs by Elvis Presley which ultimately led to her own successful career in the music industry.
