Mary Greenwell, born on February 27, 1960 in England, is a prominent celebrity makeup artist known for her work with models, actresses, and royalty. Her clientele has included notable figures such as Uma Thurman, Cate Blanchett, and Princess Diana. In addition to her work with individuals, she has also collaborated with top fashion brands like Chanel and Versace.
Greenwell’s career began at the makeup counter of Il Makiage in the 1970s before receiving training from Ilana Harkavy in New York. Notably, she was responsible for Princess Diana‘s makeup during her first Vogue cover shoot.
Interestingly enough, despite her successful career as a makeup artist later in life Greenwell had little interest in cosmetics and rarely used them while growing up in England.
