Mary Fickett (May 23, 1928 – September 8, 2011) was an American soap opera actress best known for her portrayal of Ruth Martin on the long-running series “All My Children,” a role she played for 27 years.
Before her acting career, Fickett attended Wheaton College. In a historical achievement, she became the first daytime performer to win an Emmy award for acting in a daytime series in 1972.
Fickett married Allen Fristoe as her third husband in 1979. She passed away on September 8, 2011 at the age of 83.
