About Martie Seidel
Martie Seidel, born on October 12, 1969 in York, Pennsylvania, is a prominent country singer known for her role as the fiddler, mandolin player, and vocalist for the Dixie Chicks. Picking up fiddling lessons at the age of twelve, she went on to win national fiddling championships in her youth and busked at various bluegrass festivals.
Aside from her musical accomplishments, it is interesting to note that Martie Seidel is left-handed. She was previously married to Ted Seidel before their divorce in November 1999. Later on August 10th, 2001 she tied the knot with Gareth Maguire and had three daughters: twins Eva Ruth and Kathleen Emilie (born in 2004) as well as Rosie (born in 2008). However, Martie and Gareth divorced in 2013.
