Martha Wash, born on December 28, 1953, in San Francisco, California, is an American R&B singer and songwriter. Known as The Queen of Clubland, she has achieved six Number One hit dance songs on the Billboard Music Charts including “Everybody Everybody” and “Gonna Make You Sweat.” Her song “Keep on Jumpin'” has gained over 2 million streams on Spotify.
Prior to her fame, Martha started her singing career as a backup singer for Sylvester and was part of the duo The Weather Girls. She made a notable appearance on GSN’s I’ve Got A Secret in 2006 where she performed “It’s Raining Men” for an all-gay panel. In 2020, Martha released her third studio album entitled Love & Conflict.
