Marla Gibbs, born on June 14, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, is a TV actress best known for her role as Florence Johnson on the television series The Jeffersons from 1975 to 1985. She also appeared in the series 227 from 1985 until 1990.
Prior to her acting career, she was known as Margaret Theresa Bradley and worked as a reservations agent for United Airlines. Notably, she reprised her role as Florence Johnson on the Jefferson spin-off Checking In.
In terms of family life, she married Jordan Gibbs in 1956 and they had three children including actress Angela Gibbs before divorcing in 1973.
