About Marion Zimmer Bradley
Marion Zimmer Bradley (June 3, 1930 – September 25, 1999) was an American novelist best known for her fantasy works, particularly The Mists of Avalon and the Darkover series. Born in New York, she graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Bradley published her first novel, Falcons of Narabedla, in 1957 and often incorporated feminist themes into her writing. She grew up on a farm in Albany, New York and later married Walter H. Breen; the couple divorced following Breen’s arrest on charges of child sexual abuse.
