About Marina Franklin
Marina Franklin, born on December 25, 1986 in Chicago, Illinois, is a prominent comedian known for her work in standup comedy, writing, acting and podcast hosting. She has showcased her talents internationally at various clubs and festivals including the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Glasgow Comedy Festival, Rotterdam’s Comedy Factory and Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. In 2019, she released her comedy special “Single Black Female”.
Prior to her rise to fame as a comedian, Franklin obtained degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Syracuse University. Her television debut was in 2004 on Best Week Ever.
In addition to her success as a standup comic and writer, Franklin has made appearances on several television shows such as Chappelle’s Show and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She also hosts the Friends Like Us Podcast and has been featured on podcasts like WTF with Marc Maron and You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes.
Aside from her career achievements,Franklin comes from a family of three sisters: Nailah O. Franklin,Ashley Chappell,and herself Marina D.R.Franklin
