About Marilyn Minter
Marilyn Minter, born on July 20, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana, is a prolific American conceptual artist known for her work depicting sexuality and erotic imagery. Her video piece “Green Pink Caviar” was featured at the Modern Museum of Art for over a year.
Before gaining recognition as an artist, Minter earned a Master of Fine Arts at Syracuse University and was involved in the Manhattan nightclub scene during the 1970s and 1980s.
In addition to her artistic endeavors, she has taught in the MFA department at New York’s School of Visual Arts. A notable subject in her work is her drug-addicted mother.
