About Marilyn Horne
Marilyn Horne, born on January 16, 1934 in Bradford, Pennsylvania is an American opera singer known for her mezzo-soprano voice. Her illustrious career spanned from the 1950s until her retirement in 1999.
Before gaining fame as an opera singer, Horne became part of the Los Angeles Concert Youth Chorus at the age of thirteen.
In addition to her vocal talents, Horne published an autobiography titled “My Life” in 1983.
Horne grew up with her family in Long Beach, California.
