About Mariela Encarnacion
Mariela Encarnacion is a journalist and television host known for her work on CNNEspanol’s pop culture news program Showbiz. She was born on September 8, 1979, in the Dominican Republic.
Encarnacion began her career in TV hosting in the Dominican Republic before moving on to work for Telemundo’s show Levantate. She graduated from Lehman College with a degree in Spanish and a minor in education.
In addition to her work at CNNEspanol and Telemundo, she earned the 2013 Sovereign Award for Best Broadcaster Abroad and covered local Miami pop culture news.
She currently resides in the United States but was born and raised in the Dominican Republic.
