About Marie Luise Kaschnitz
Marie Luise Kaschnitz was a significant German poet and author born on January 31, 1901. She is best known for her post-World War II works, including the short story collection “Lange Schatten,” the poetry collection “Uberallnie,” and the essay collection “Notizen der Hoffnung.” Her literary career began with the publication of her debut novel, “Liebe Beginnt,” in 1933; however, she garnered widespread acclaim a decade later with a 1945 essay collection. Kaschnitz received numerous literary honors throughout her career, including the 1973 Roswitha Prize and the 1955 Georg Buchner Prize. She often traveled with her husband, writer and archaeologist Guido Freiherr Von Kaschnitz-Weinberg.
