About Marie-France Pisier
Marie-France Pisier (born May 10, 1944 in Vietnam) was a renowned French movie actress known for her contributions to the French New Wave cinema. She gained acclaim for her award-winning performances in the films Cousin Cousine (1975) and Barocco (1976), both of which earned her Cesar Awards.
Pisier’s career began with her first film, Antoine and Colette (1962), directed by Francois Truffaut. Additionally, she wrote a novel titled Le Bal du Gouverneur and later directed its cinematic adaptation in 1990.
Born to a French colonial politician, Pisier spent formative years in Dalat, French Indochina before relocating to Paris during her youth. She was married twice and had two children named Iris and Mathieu with her second husband Thierry Funck-Brentano.
