Maria Lucia (born February 9, 1984) is a Danish pop singer known for winning the competition television show Popstars in 2003. Her debut single, “Taking Back My Heart,” topped the Danish top 40 chart, Hitlisten.
Before gaining fame on Popstars, Maria began her singing career at age eight in the film Bugsy Malone. In addition to her music career, she has appeared in various musical theatre productions including Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, Wicked, Aladdin and The Sound of Music.
Born in Aarhus, Denmark to mother Karin Heilberg Christensen and father Per Rosenberg – an elementary school teacher– Maria also shares glimpses of her personal life through photos with her son on Instagram.
