About Maria Grazia Chiuri
Maria Grazia Chiuri, born on February 2, 1964 in Italy, is a prominent fashion designer known for her work at several iconic fashion houses. She began her career at Fendi and later moved to Valentino before eventually becoming the creative director of Dior in July 2016.
During her tenure at Fendi, she played a key role in developing the famous Baguette bag. Her designs have graced numerous celebrities including Natalie Portman, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Zoey Deutch.
Prior to entering the world of fashion design, Chiuri studied at IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) in Rome. In addition to her professional achievements, she co-authored a book with Pierpaolo Piccioli called “Valentino: Objects of Couture” in 2013 and debuted her first collection for Dior in Paris back in 2016 where she notably featured a t-shirt bearing the title of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie‘s essay “We Should All Be Feminists”. Furthermore, she published another book titled “Her Dior: Maria Grazia Chiuri’s New Voice” in 2021.
Born into a military family with a mother who was skilled dressmaker, Chiuri has incorporated elements from diverse facets of life into her work. She is married to Paolo Regini and has two children named Niccolo and Rachele.
