About Marcia Lucas
Marcia Lucas (born October 4, 1945) is a renowned cinematic editor who received the Academy Award for Best Film Editing in 1977 for her work on Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. She also served as the editor for Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.
Early in her career, she co-edited the 1973 film American Graffiti, which earned her an Academy Award nomination. Additionally, Marcia edited Taxi Driver, starring Robert De Niro and Cybill Shepherd.
In 1969, she married film director George Lucas; they later divorced in 1983. Following their divorce, Marcia married and subsequently divorced Tom Rodrigues.
