About Manuela Schmerber
Manuela Schmerber, born on March 9, 1938 in Texas, is a professional wrestler widely known as Lita Marez or the Latin Hellcat. She gained recognition for her signature moves named The Rocker and The Boston Crab.
Born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, Schmerber responded to an advertisement in a wrestling program for Mildred Burke School Of Professional Wrestling in Reseda. There she underwent professional training before embarking on her wrestling career.
In a historic event on February 22, 1967, Marez participated along with five other professional female wrestlers in the first-ever Battle Royal at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
Hailing from a family with a deep-rooted interest in wrestling, she drew inspiration from her grandfather Jose and father John’s passion for the sport.
