Manuela Carmena is a Spanish politician born on February 9, 1944, in Madrid, Spain. She graduated from the University of Valencia in 1965 with a law degree and went on to have a successful career as an attorney and judge before entering politics.
In 2015, Carmena was elected Mayor of Madrid, marking a significant milestone in her political career. She has also authored several books, including “Por que las cosas pueden ser diferentes: Reflexiones de una jueza,” which was published in 2014.
Carmena married Eduardo Leira in 1967 and they have two children named Eva and Manuel. Her father, Carmelo, ran a shirt shop while her mother, Matilde, worked as a cashier.
